Replacing ball joints.

Default Replacing ball joints.

ON a 99 dodge dakota 2wd. is there any special tool needed to rplace ball joints. any type of special method or any other hints to help install new parts. my dad and i plan on replacing the ball joints on his truck and we just want to make sure there isnt anything special we need or anything like that or any hints. thank you

You need a pickle fork and one special tool and you need a ball joint press which i know for a fact you can rent one from autozone for 100 bucks but if you bring the press back to autozone you get your 100 bucks back. And pickle forks arent to expensive to buy. Its basically just a rod with a end that looks like when people hold of the peace sign with their two fingers (sorry best way i could think of to explain it). Also you will PROBALLY need a air chisel to chisel away the stock rivets (or you could use a regular chisel and a huge hammer just takes more time). If ya need anymore help just ask.
