Brake system help
We are building a 1991 dodge dakota for road racing. We stripped the truck including the brake lines and tossed everything. Putting on new race calipers on all four wheels, but using the original master cylinder without the porportioning valve.
Question?
We never marked which fitting on the master cylinder goes to the front wheels and which fitting goes to the rear wheels.
Does the rear fitting on the master cylinder (closest to the fire wall) go to the front or rear brakes?
Also, will the master cylinder work on feeding four wheel disc brakes??

By looking at the manual we have in the FAQ it looks like rear of the MC is the Front brakes. You will still need a proportioning valve. You can get and adjustable one to dial it in. The master cylinder will probably need to be upgraded. There is no direct replacement. Your going to have to find one that is similar. Rams may work, who knows.
What calipers did you use? Stock axles?

+1 to needing a proportioning valve. Get an adjustable one that you can dial in yourself. The rear of our trucks are so light that without a way to drop the pressure to the rear brakes, you will lock them up all the time.
