Default Is it this worth the effort

I have a 89 dodge dakota 4x4 with the 3.9 v6.
i have a 86 dodge b150 van 2wd with 318 in it.
The van transmission and engine are ok.
the dakota transmission is shot, but its engine is ok.
I would be ok with making the dakota 2wd.
I dont see many 89 dakota transmissions around here.
So is it possible to do some kind of swap, and is it worth it ?

So you want to just swap the transmission? Or the engine and transmission?
If it is just the transmission it shouldn't be too bad. If your doing engine and transmission then it will be more involved and may be more power but the 80's V8's were not that great. Upgrading to a better V8 would be best.

Probably just tranmission, unless both makes it easier , or alot better.
I got them both for free, both are dented and rusty. But free !
How hard would a transmission swap be, and would custom parts be required ?
