gearing
what gears does a 1993 dodge dakota 4X4 have, i looked through the service manuals and couldnt really find it, which i probably missed, if any one could tell me what gears i have and where i could find the procedures, it would be great, im planning on makin my truck a weekend toy when it dies and was wanting to where the procedures are located, and what would be the best gears, looking for performance gains but also still want to get decent MPG, i have never done it before so i need the procedures, any help on findin them would be great
there should be a tag on the rearend with numbers on it. there may be two tags actually. i think the tag that has the ratio on it is on the top right when looking at it from the back. i think 3.55 is the most common ratio.
Ya 3.55 is 90% or so 3.21 and 3.90 are about 5% each.
There was a sticker under the hood too.
For MPG the 3.21 is best. For power the 3.9 is best. For larger tires ect you may need to go to a lower ratio (Numerically higher).
