Default shifting problems

Have a 93 v6 2wd Dak with 61k original miles purchased last week. The tranny does not slip, trans fluid full & clean, problem is shifts from 1st to 2nd at 32 rpms & from 2nd to 3rd at 38rpms OD is fine. Gets about 12miles to a gallon if not TV what else could be wrong? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would strongly suggest it is the TV cable. Did you try adjusting it?
If not then maybe something wrong with the valve body.

Check out the this post on how to adjust the TV cable. Move it in and out if going by the book doesn't work.

Its really great you guys give your time/solutions in helping people out. I just don't want to be taken by some tranny shop if all it needs is a TV adjustment
