Default 1992Dakota Steering Shaft Question

How does this come out? Is it presses in or an allen bolt (that's what is looks like). Also if it's pressed in, which side should I bang on to get it out (see pics). Thanks in advance.

It is a press in pin. You would have to press out the pin from the end with the hole. Using an air hammer would be best. It is almost like a rivet where the other end expands.

But if your trying to remove the steering shaft that is not where you want to remove it. You would remove the bolt/pin from the slip yoke that connects to the steering gear box. Just below the U-Joint in you pic. Again use an air hammer to knock out the pin, this one is just a compression pin so it is meant to be removed if necessary. Trust me an air hammer will knock it out quick.

Yes you got it that is the correct pin to remove. The steering column to shaft has the same type of yoke and pin, if you needed to know.
