Vibration

Default Vibration

Hi, I have a 92 V8 4wd, recently I have heard a noise in the front that was getting louder. Yesterday it got loud kind of like a wheel bearing, but when I get off the gas it basically goes away. Today I noticed that upon acceleration from a dead stop, I get a vibration and if I make a turn, and if it is a right turn it feels like it is fetching up as if I were in 4wd. By the way I found the front rear was low and topped it off. Any thoughts or suggestions to what this is or what I should look at would be appreciated. Thanks.

the howling sound is the ring & pinion on your front axle becoming worn out. Basically the tooth pattern is changing as you accelerate & decelerate. The vibration when you take off is usually u-joints, but that shouldn't be the case unless in you're in 4WD, or your shift linkage in the transfer case is binding causing it to be stuck in 4WD.

I respectfully disagree with this, I had to replace both U-joints to remove my vibration/loud a$$ noise... and I was not in 4wd
