Default 99 Dakota Parts

Friend is parting out a '99 Dakota 5.2 Magnum. We are buying the posi rear end from him, wondering if there would be anything else in this truck that would fit our 1992 5.2 Magnum. Trucks are both auto and both 2 wheel drive. I know the transmissions are different, any suggestions would be welcome.

Well, the engine is 7 years newer, so should be the parts. Not sure what is wrong with yours that you would consider needing additional parts.

Was just thinking, maybe keep the sensors and stuff like that around in case we need them later. Would the motors interchange from '99 to '92?

Yes the motor would work. You would need to use your intake and electronics.

Thanks for the replies. Would there be much difference in the hp between the '92 and '99, both stock motors?

If memory serves the 92' has better exhaust manifolds worth about 10 torque. The cam in 99' is a .432 w/1.6 and a duration of 264/250 intake/exhaust. The 92 has .391 w/1.6 and a duration of 240/240. This is subjective, but you have to measure the cams anyway. I can confirm the .391 though. A real pig above 4k rpm.
