Default Overdrive

Ok the other day the OD stopped workin, when drivin down the highway ill be at 65 mph at 3000 rpm. pressing the button did nothin, the button lit up but nothin happened

I had the same problem. For me it was the speed sensor on the side of the transmission. The part is easy to replace but I believe it cost me something like $130

Sauxon, is this the sped sensor that is on the side of the tranny? if so where is it located. And i hope this is it cause i would be alot happier if i didnt have to spend $130

Another option is a bad coolant temp sensor. Remember that these trucks have 2, so just because the guage is working does not mean that computer is getting a corrent reading. The overdrive control is part of the computer's closed loop (engine warm).

ok, i have replace one already , i think it was the one next to the thermostat, where is the second one

For your sake I hope that it is a coolant temperature. I refused to buy a sensor for the longest time until I finally let in.

Your link did not work for me but the sensor is on the driver side of the transmission in pretty good view. It has a cable running into it.

This is the one that I had to buy
