Default New Parts. Pics and questions

I have not posted much here.
My name is Mike. I am 19 and currently live in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
I own a 1993 Dodge Dakota LE Extended cab
4x4 Automatic
5.2L Magnum

I have owned my truck for just over a year now and have recently been gathering parts to put on when I get some time off. This thread is so that I can show you all what is going on and so that I can ask questions and get suggestions.

As of right now. I need to know if this bolt is the block antifreeze drain plug.
I am looking for a place to install a thermostat for the electric fans which I received today.

This is of the passenger side of the block. The engine mount to the left and the rad hose to the right. Just above the oil pan.

Off hand I want to say it is a drain plug. I never used it so I can't say for sure. But since it is next to a freeze plug I would assume so. The manual we got in the FAQ would say for sure. The intake manifold would be a better spot since it will be cooler then the bottom end which will be hotter.

Do you know of any "spare" holes in the intake of the 5.2 magnum off hand? I will take a look tomorrow.
I was also thinking of just putting a T on one of my existing thermostats and putting it in there

These are the new fans that I got. I probably could have gone with the 13's instead of the 12" though. I am contemplating making a fan shroud like Z Guy did

No there is no extra provision for a new sensor. But a simple drill and tap will make a spot, $5 or so.

A T may work if you can find the correct threads.
