Default 1995 Dodge Dakota Transmission

Ok on same Dodge Dakota that is experiencing issues with the A/C, the transmission is doing something funky. It's an automatic transmission. From 1-2 it shifts fine, but from 2-3 until there is a definite....Delay...in shifting. Once truck is warm this issue goes away completely and the transmission shifts like it should. I don't know if this truck suffers from the TSB issued for an aux. trans cooler or not. Not even sure if it has an aux. trans cooler. Sometimes we can get it to shift into 3rd by letting off of the gas completely, sometimes not.

It may be due to low or bad fluid. Or a miss-adjusted TV cable. The FAQ has a post on how to adjust it.

is it a 92 - 96 or a 87 -91. the 92 up have a cable adjustment but the 91 under have a rod adjustment. like crazy said that could be the problem, either way don't push too hard on the tranny valve forward, just until it seats, if you go all the way on the lever your adjustment is screwed.
theres also band adjustments. you can do one from the outside of the tranny but the other one has to be done with the pan off.
pick up a repair manual for $20 and it will give you the specs.

It's a 1995. not even 150xxx on the odometer yet. I'll look at carefully adjusting that TV cable. I read on how to adjust the bands on the truck, but I don't have a torque wrench, and for that fact I don't have one that's in inches pounds.
