Default Dual Exhaust question?

I'm really considering investing in dual exhaust for my truck. I planned on getting it custom done at a shop in town. But I've been reading about it on this website and I'm just curious.
Do true duals give a big performance boost like I've been led to believe all my life or is a single to dual better for performance?

My last truck I ran 2 1/2" pipe from the cat with a flowmaster muffler.
That was on my old 98 2wd Dakota sport with the 318. I loved that exhaust but I always really wanted duals :P

No dual exhaust or any other performance or modification will give you big gains. It will give you small gains, but when installing other performance parts, TOGETHER they will give you some. But again nothing big.

If you want big go with a bigger motor or a supercharger or turbocharger.

But don't get discouraged, it will be good to do.
