LOL No. Nothing will be a direct drop in besides Magnums.

If you truly want it, it will have to be custom install mounts, wiring, transmission ect.

What kind of man would ruin a perfectly good Dodge truck with a Ford engine...

if you want a 5.0 buy a ranger and slam a mustang drive train in it. lighter truck than ours too. if you want ***** build the **** out of a 360 and run a stick in it.

No, but if it were carbed, it would be extremely simple. I am not a purist, but since the magnum's fit, I would recommend that in lieu of going FOMOCO on a Dakota. The positives of the 302 would be a lighter drivetrain, a WO T-5 would be nice, and simplicity of a foward distributor (allowing some flexability and weight advantage for rearward mounting). Still cheaper overall to throw a 360 in it.

like siggie30 said in the days before injection you could put a 350 4bbl in a datsun pickup. but now there's too much wiring unless you put a carbed 302 in and trashed most of the wiring. why you would do that is beyond me. throw in a carbed hemi there's a better chance of a fit.

dont know if i would do it or not just lookin for possibilities, i cant find any magnum engines on craigslist around my area, all of the ones ive seen are being sold as a whole truck, and the couple of 5.0 that ive seen are carbed, ive had plans on rebuilding the 318 after it goes but i dont know how much its goin to be because i havnt really been able to tear into it since it is my DD, and im wanting to get a new tranny cause the one i have in is startin to act up again, so just seein the options

Since it is your daily driver, then you are really limited to your options as far as down time. Why not wait until another 318 or 360 (magnum) shows up and tinker with it (stroke, heads, cam, electronics, ect.) and swap it over the weekend. Otherwise, you will be down for longer than you want to be.
