The dakota i bought had this problem, my dad just figured it'd be easier to find a motor with fewer miles in it and check it over and put it in than to find the problem and fix it. then again the motor that came out of my truck had like 225,xxx. it also ate oil like it ate gas almost a 1/2 qt a tank.
My dad said it might have been the main bearings i think it was, we never took it apart to actually see what the problem was
sorry i haven't been on in a while i changed the oil and it is running alot smoother and the oil pressure builds nicely but i haven't drove it at all yet just ran it
ok i ran it for a while today because i changed my tranny fluid and had to run it to check the level well the engine oil pressure was doing fine until it was warm then it dropped it only builds when i rev it please help
the oil pressure sending unit can somebody also put a pic of where it is on the engine and explain how to remove it and other steps i need to know how to fix it
Just to the left (Passenger side) of the distributor. There is a special socket you can buy or use a wrench, buy the new one and see what fits that you got.
