If I am not mistaken, you should not wire both coils on your sub since it is a dual 4 ohm, and your amp is a 4 ohm. I recommend you look at the12volt.com for any questions related to car audio. Also, you have a 400 watt amp and not 1000. To get the most out of what you have, wire your sub bridged and only wire one set on the sub. Your amp is way to small for that sub anyways.

the 12volt.com is a great resource to have for amps and subs. but like siggie said the sub will be wayyy underpowered with that amp.

You could wire only one coil of the sub but i don't think that is a good idea as it could possibly damage the sub.
edit: i did some quick research and it looks like you wont damage the sub just by running it on one voice coil, but if you do only run one voice coil your amp would have to be less than half the rms of the sub.

if you did wire the sub with that amp the coils would have to be wired in series because i doubt the amp will be able to push them at 2 ohms.

if you're interested in getting a different amp i can give you some information that you may or may not already know.
