Couldnt even get a core credit this thing is so destroyed. I have a ax15 sitting in my yard of which I got the transfer case off of. Is it possible I could make the swap? What all would it take to put the ax15 behind a v-6.

 

First of all what did the AX15 come from?

 

Well therin lies the problem. Bought the tranny and transfer case together because the transfer case appeared to have the correct model number. Bolted to the 88 Dodge tranny but had to get the driveline rebuilt as the u joint was heavier of the tail end of the transfer case. I believe that is a np231d. seller didn"t know what it had come off from said it had been laying in his driveway for years. Did not appear as tho the bell housing wanted to fit the v 6 but I wasn't that interested at the time so I did not study it. Do know the front spline is also heavier and will definatley mean a new clutch. (pressure plate?, fly wheel?) spose it would be much simpler to find another np a535.

 

So not sure if you got my response. I"m thinking maybe a early 90's dakota.

 

I'm just having a real hard time finding a np535 (Nv 2500) that they don't want an arm and a leg for.
