Default Open Air Filter

So I'm bored and want to shine up the engine bay some and decided to put a chrome open air filter in it. I want the Edelbrock 14" one and from what I can tell through research needs some modifications, but I didn't find any thing specific for Dakotas of our year. Anyone do this? I also want a K&N filter in it. on a side note, what do I do with the breather and such that would get hooked to the factory intake? lastly this is a 95 5.2l SLT

I have an el cheapo 14"(?) open element air cleaner on my 3.9. Not mods done, I think the breather was left open. I would like to get a stock air cleaner and air box for it though.

Heres what I had to do when I installed my Edelbrock open air cleaner.
I have a 93 Dakota LE with the 318.

Tore out the old unit, then drilled out the pre indented holes on the bottom plate for my vacuum line.
I had to buy a 1 1/4 Inch spacer so the plate would mount properly.
I slapped my K&N filter in there and tried to put the top plate on.
I had to replace the screw that you thread your bolt onto that secures the set up to the intake. It needed to be longer.
Oh your vacuum hose that goes from your valve cover the Eddie may need to be changed. I had to McGuiver something to work since my tube was so darn old that it cracked when I had to stretch it to fit the Eddie's hose slot.
FYI I just put a smaller tube in my big tube lol. It lives to this day.
Heres a picture

Interesting guys. Well I went for it the other night and couldn't be happier. I made my own spacer with a rubber coupler. Very pleased with the install and I do notice some better throttle response. Plus the exhaust is deeper.
