i didn't even know how to get the error codes on my truck until i joined this forum..so i went out this morning and gave it a whirl..all i got was code 55, which i understand is normal...i did notice that the oil light stayed on while getting codes only, then disappears when i start the truck...is this something i should address or is it normal??

 

It's normal. Mine does this also.

The light is on when the motor isn't because there is no oil pressure obviously it is because the motor isn't on.

Then the light turns off when the motor is running because there is oil pressure.
