will a 55 psi inline fuel pump pull enough fuel trough the old in tank pump to power a 318 in a 96 dak

I doubt it. The fuel pressure regulator is for 35-40psi but the pump puts out 100psi or more I think. Why do you ask? Are you trying to get around from replacing the in-tank pump?

Just replace the original fuel pump, you don't want that cheep external pump to fail on you in the middle of no where. You can drop the tank or remove the bed, both can be done in 1-2 hours. I changed mine a few weeks ago by dropping the tank, I had it done within an hour.
