Exclamation Intermittently dies

Vehicle is a '93 5.2L V-8 4x4. Everything is stock on it. The issue is the truck will intermittently die. Sometimes on the freeway, sometimes at idle while pulling out of/into a parking lot or at a light. If it stalls on the freeway, it will re-start it's self. The Tach does drop to "0". My initial thoughts are crank sensor (on bell housing) or possible coil. I don't believe fuel delivery is the issue, as it starts right back up (no excessive cranking like loss of pressure). I am thinking that either spark is going away or injector pulse is being interrupted, or both. Anyone else have a similar problem? If so, what did you go after first? The crank sensor is $130 from the dealership, and I don't really trust aftermarket parts. If it's the coil, I may go MSD.

When it is on the freeway does is it low throttle or close to idle? Sounds like it might be a bad IAC if so. Or a vacuum leak.

When it dies on the freeway, it just stalls, like the key has been turned off.

Unhappy Intermittenly dies

Did anyone ever find an answer to this problem plaguing me? Same situation 93 Dakota 5.2 Liter. Dies intermittenly as if the key is turned off while driving. Starts back up and runs fine in under 2 minutes everytime. Have replaced the cam sensor and the distributor pick up plate. Any suggestions?

The splice is located underneath the Power Distribution Center (PDC), which is the black box located behind the battery. To Troubleshoot
Maybe check that out...? Found it in the FAQ Common Problems section. Hope you get it figured out.

Looks like I never updated this thread. I ended up replacing the pcm to solve the cutting out issue. Hope this helps some one else.
