Default 93 Dakota no start

Have a 93 Dakota no start
• have power at the coil connection for about 1 second after ignition switch is put in run position then 12 volts are not there.
• obvious no spark at the coil
• check the three soilder wires under fuse box. Checked good

* I found a post that said to check distributor for rotor rotation while cranking engine. Distributor shaft does not spin while engine is crank.

Help from there would be appreciated very much.
Timing chain? Bad gear to distributor?

So if you remove the distributor cap the rotor does not turn at all while the engine is cranking? If so then yes maybe timing chain.

Yes with cap off distributor will not turn while crank. Also before it quit running I was going almost highway speeds. Entering ramp and it started missing firing horrible and popping. What kind of damage a broken chain can do?
How can I check the Chain?

Another way to test if it's the chain is when you are cranking the engine, have someone cover the tailpipe and tell you whether it's sucking in, or blowing out. If it's the timing chain, the exhaust will be sucking in.

A broken chain can do quite a bit of damage. You can bend rods, and bend valves. Me and my gf got lucky with her Cavalier and didn't do any extensive damage to the motor, so cross your fingers and hope for the best!
