we started working on the steering today to. its pretty much done we just need to get a heim end. if thats spelled right and make a braket from the frame to the heim end and back to the frame. and then steering will be 100% done. its getting there. maybe some snow wheeling video after chrismas.

ok here what i did.

removed the shaft from the dakota steering box.

Then cut the old chevy steering shaft down.

After that we used the laid and cut down the dakota steering box shaft down. and put it in the center of the old chevy steering shaft.

and got this as a finish item. looks like a heavy pitch but it works very well just needs some support at the bottom.

well maybe next year. everything is done. just needed tiny odds and ends. belts, had to put fuild in the engine and finish bumpers and firewall.

we got the drivetrain all done and we wanted to see if it would go into gear. but the motor just went clank. like the starter was stuck out.

no wasn't it. engine had a little sluch in the motor from the last owner and i put new oil in it and it got a little water in it. not a lot but it made a heavy sluch like crap. sucked it though the engine blocking engine oil ways and over heated the rods. 1-2 and 7-8. engine is crap. needs a crank but it would cost to much to change. time to find another engine but i need to find a job. because everything i had was in the truck and engine.

ooo happy new years.

Damn that sucks! There are always set backs, it always takes way more time and more money then you ever thought.

I hope this project finishes sometime.
