Unhappy Need help!

Ok so my dakota is stalling periodically but is getting worse now. I have replaced the coil and CPS (crank position sensor) and is still stalling. I am pretty sure its is in the ignition system because I have sprayed starter fluid in it and it will NOT start off it. I am running out of possibillities. has anyone had this happen to them before?

When it dies does it die like you turned off the key or does it stumble then die?
When it dies is it at idle or low throttle or do you have mid to high RPM's when it dies?
Does it start back up right away or you have to wait a long time?

The notorious splice is one possibility along with tons more.

it will stumble when driving. when it is idling it shuts off like the key is off. it never starts right back up.

Sounds like wiring gremlins to me, especially if it isn't throwing codes...
Notorious splice needs to be checked, similar issue on my '91 turned out to be a funky harness connector for the crank sensor. Get under the hood when it's idling and fiddle with things, move the wiring loom around and flex the connectors to see if you can make it repeat.
Damn gremlins had me seriously looking into a stand alone dist. and a carb for my Dak before I found the problem, making it guest-of-honor at a bonfire was also growing on me too ), so hang in there and we'll talk you through it as best we can...
