Default Dakota Six Pack Hood Scoop

So I was bull****ing with my dad earlier and we got talking hoodscoops since I was thinking of doing some in the future to get that extra bit of air hitting the engine.

Turns out my old man has a Six Pack hood scoop in our shop unused just waiting for a hood to call a home. It was given to him when he was restoring his 1969 Barracuda he just decided not to use it. I already know how I would install it, its just a matter of would it just look silly or would it be awesome.

I'm aiming towards awesome but some input is always welcome. Heres a picture of what the hoodscoop looks like for those of you who don't know.

If it does go on my hood it would OFC get the rockguard treatment with the rest of my hood.
Plus I figure it'll be a nice addition to that rebuilt engine my Kota will receive in the future.
What do yea guys think?

I pulled it out of the shop and took some photos of it on the truck or at least sitting on it.

Along with that I also found some photos of a Dakota that has a Six pack scoop on it

i think it suits your truck. Looks pretty sweet for sure.
I don't know how it would look with a bush bar if you plan on putting one on though

I do have a bush bar that I made an attempt at mounting on the truck.
I'm not to hot on it anymore lol.

But yea I'm thinking either the 6 pack scoop or a set of two smaller scoops spread out a bit on my hood.

Personally I like the cowl hoods on our trucks. I kind of want to get one but as usual money is an issue. Maybe I will make one while I am in welding next year.
Are you talking similar to Crazys scoops?
They look pretty good with the bush bar

What is it made out of?
How does that one mount on?
Are you going to make it functional or keep it fake?
Painted to match or what?

My hood scoops are some kind of plastic maybe ABS, with the desert sun it just killed them they are cracking and spitting bad. Although for your location you may not get as intense UV rays but I would recommend fiberglass or steel. They sell complete hoods with scoops or cawl inductions built in.

This one looks like the one you like. http://www.andysautosport.com/dodge/...c00000766.html

For me one day I will buy this one and make it functional and ditch my POS ones.

The one I have right now is made out of fibreglass.
It will be fully functional, I don't see a point to scoops if they aren't :P

As for installation I figure rivet it all the way around, spread some fiberglass around the seem, sand it down then paint it with rockguard.

And yea Sauxon I guess what I was thinking of was like what Crazy has on his truck.
