Default Preformance help

I have a 1996 Dodge Dakota 3.9l 4x4. I have a K&N air filter Dynomax exhaust and an adjustable electric fan. I plan on installing a 180 thermostat but I'm not sure which is the best spark plug to buy afterwards and what’s the gap setting should then be.
I keep reading about these “chips” are the all smoke a mirrors?
Where can i find a IAT relocation procedure hopefully with pictures.

Welcome to the site. Check out www.sparkplugs.com for plugs and correct gapping. Tuners, if available for a 1996, are better than chips and I will move this thread to the first generation Dakota section,

Welcome. For spark plugs use Autolite 3923, ask by part number they are not stock style. They are 1 step colder which is better for performance and cheep too.

Yes the Chips are junk, don't buy them. The only one that have worked for some is JetChips. But they have caused burnt wires ect for others.

As for the IAT relocation I bet if you do a search on here you will find tons of threads on it.

Check our FAQ in this section for TONS more performance ideas.
