Default Vacuum Canister

Got a 93 Dakota 5.2 Magnum 4x4, gonna use it for off roading. Removing some accessories around the motor such as Air, Cruise but wondering about a couple of items. The vacuum canister sitting on the driver's inner fender, can that be removed and the lines plugged up? Gonna remove the intake to clean up the plenum, do we then need to reinstall the compressor and is there a serpentine belt out there for that application?

Yes the vacuum canister could be removed. It is there for emissions and it helps a little with MPG.

AC compressor? Yes you could remove it. I think you may be able to get a non AC serpentine belt and that should work. If not there are AC delete pulleys. The FAQ2 has a link.

Yea you can get a belt that'll delete your AC. Sadly I don't remember the length of the belt I used...

But just get your lines drained and rip it all out. Pretty simple its what I did to mine when I finally decided to get rid of it since my AC was buggered and I never used the darn thing.

Thanks guys, most of the a/c is out, just the compressor is left and want to keep the parts as they will all fit on Muriel's '92 Dak if needed.
