Default 91 dodge dakota v-6 starting problem

I have a 91 dodge dakota, 3.9 V6 (non magnum). Can't get it to start, went through timing, found compression on #1, timing is correct (1-6-5-4-3-2). fuel "drains" out of the injectors, for maybe 1 second upon turning the key to on, then when starting, no fuel appears to be coming out. Wondering if this might be a fuel pump not keeping pressure, or a computer component not functioning. Thoughts? Thanks. :0)

Get a fuel pressure gauge and see what you get.

I will move this thread to the 1st Generation Dakota Sub-Forum.
