Default beef up trans for 360?

Ok I've read everything in faq 2, and can't really get any clarity out of it except for auto trans...

Anyways my truck is 93 4x4 3.9l manual transmission...

Does it have to be swapped for 360? Or can I just put an Aftermarket clutch? If not what exactly has to be beefed up in v6 trans?

Is there difference between 318 and 360 manual trans?

One more thing , are all these like my 4wd where 4wd shifter is to left of trans shift on floor? Direct hook up or mod?

No it doesn't have to be swapped out. But it won't last, remember Dodge didn't put the 42rh (V6 trans) behind the V8 for a reason.

92-95 Both V8's came with the 46rh. Later years the 5.2 went down to a 44re, instead of the 46re which came on 5.9's. The shifters will be different, but the location will be the same. Using your stock shifter should work.

The 42rh can be upgraded but in my opinion it is not worth it.

For us (pre 96) no it doesn't matter. But when you drop in the 5.9 it is best to get the Mopar Per. PCM for 94-95 Ram 5.9. That will get you the most power possible.

Cool sounds good, while were at it, one more, how's my rear differential gonna hold up? Oh and a side note if it makes different blew my transfer case years back, and couldn't get another aluminum driveshaft so I had steel custom made, how's this shaft gonna effect truck ? Good or bad? It's quite a bit heavier

The custom driveshaft will be better. It will handle just fine. As far as the rear end,

As far as your rear end it depends on which one you have. Most likely it is a Chry 8.25 Oval shaped cover, if so then it can take the power. If it is a Octagon shaped cover it is a Chry 7.25 and that should be upgraded.

You just may need the 4wd oil pan for the 5.9. The V6 pan won't work, it is not long enough since it has 2 less clyinders.

When I look up 46rh, say its auto trans , mines a standard transmission, I'm confused
