Default I need a speedo cable

Some of you may have read my last post about replacing flywheel and starter. Well, I just finished the job of installing a new torque converter and a starter. WHAT A MF'r... Anyway its back on the road again but I must of been in a rush. Ive accidentally ruined the speedo cable end that goes into the tranny. The problem is I cant find a replacement. Im not paying $87 @ the stealership for a new 1. Any ideas. Ive been to all the local parts stores and no one can help me out. Its for an 87 dakota with the 3.9, 4x4 and cruise control. From what I can find online 87 is all by itself from all the others... Anyone got any suggestions. Ive been using my phone that has a speedo ap on it but that still doesnt let me use my cruise. Im spoiled and want my cruise back...

Junkyards, and pick-a-part places. Maybe on the net. Craigslist might have someone parting out a dak. Dodge Forum marketplace?

Many places sell universal cables. Just match it the ends and length the best you can.

Depending on your truck and the cable length, here are the part numbers from the 86-87 parts manual. Try cross-referencing the part numbers at www.autozone.com www.napaonline.com www.rockauto.com
4432 097 1 N 1 53" Long
4432 099 1 N 5 68" Long, 1987
7 4363 025 1 N CABLE, Speedo to Sensor, 24" Long, 1986-87
8 #4217 020 1 N CABLE, Sensor to Servo, 4" Long

$87 really isn't too bad honestly. Especially from the dealership.

I saw your post from 2011 about a speed o cable for a 87 Dakota. Do you still need one? I saw one on a junk yard today. It is all there. Do you have a elect. C/P on and a small gear box looking thing on yours?
