Default viper transmission

I don't know much about the Viper engines, but from what I have read they are a standard small block (5.2, 5.7) with two extra pistons. Would a 6spd transmission be a bolt on for a 5.7 that I am currently building (albeit slowly)? Would be nice to have a nice tranny like that in a Dakota. I know they run about $4k but that is not much when considering the end result.

T56s have been put behind magnums, I'm sure they've been put behind new Hemis too. Unless you meant 5.9 instead of 5.7 then my Hemi comment is irrelevant.

according to wiki, they changed the transmission from a Tremec T56 to a Tremec TR606 in the 4'th gen, but the bellhousing is changeable.

Yes, I meant 5.9.

ive seen people bolt up the t56's to 5.9l in the dakota rt's...quite a common occurrence for those that build them.
