Look up the oil pan part numbers for an 89 Shelby dakota, and the 91 v8 2wd dakota, should be the same and will fit.

I found a shelby pan from transdapt $106 but i need to see this, just from the picture the sump is moved forward which is the problem the sump hits the crossmember. the 5.2 magnum pan would be perfect if it werent for the bigger rear bearing on magnum engines. Im going to the dealer this week to see if they have any info maybe even one in stock good luck on that but you never know. If someone else try's this be sure to use a magnum engine it's a much easier task as far as getting the motor in

found one at autozone but it says front sump and there's no way a front sump will work. Does anyone know what differances there are in between the 88 and 1991 dakota? I'm just wondering if the frame had any changes

no frame changes.....
did you just look at AutoZone on line or go to the store? If they order in the wrong item, they have to make it good. The 89 Shelby Dakota oil pan is the one you want for sure, and the 91 2wd version should be the same.
