Default Cold Start Valve

Still having trouble with cold starting on our '92 Dakota 5.2. Now that its getting colder it doesn't want to start first thing in the morning., was fine all summer. Does anybody know if the Dakota has a Cold Start Valve? Or is it called something else?

Nope no cold start valve or injector ect. It could be lots of problems from a bad check valve in the fuel sending unit to a bad pump or regulator or bad temp sensors ect.

Try turning the key to ON but don't start the truck, do it a few times wait 5 seconds in between each time. Let the fuel pump prime up. Then try to start it.

Thanks for the replies. Crazy, the key on trick worked for awhile but when it is really cold it doesn't do it.
If you unplug the MAP sensor then the truck will start and one of the wires between the computer and the MAP sensor only has 5 volts, trying to figure out if that should have 12???

Try replacing the MAP since it sounds like it runs better. Most of the sensors on most vehicles run off of 5 volts, so your all good there.
