As far as I last knew, there are two 1st gen Dakota mirror styles; bubbly chrome metal and a sleek black plastic rectangle. Personally I like the sporty black plastic rectangle style so I planned on switching mine from a junkyard, however I kind of wanted power mirrors. The only power mirrors I can find are the bubbly chrome metal ones, the best I can find in the black plastic rectangle is manual remote control (**** inside the door ran by 3 cables).

So my question is did the 87-96' Dakota come with power mirrors in the sporty black plastic rectangle style/variation??

They also had the big bubbly kind in black too. my truck has them (swapped on by previous owner).

Either that or they were painted, but I dont think so. These would have had to have been dissasembled if it was painted since the insides are black too. Fairly sure they're 100% stock, just off a different dakota than mine.

 

Hmm..sounds kinda neat. Got pics? And logan, I think your truck would be much better fitted with the chrome ones given the size of it now haha
