1990 Dakota 4WD Hub Seal?
Need to replace my front hubs.
There is a metal piece at the end of the cv axle on one side. It comes off and appears to be a race of some sort. I don't know the name of it and can't find it anywhere in the autoparts catalogs. I need 1.
There is a seal that is pressed into the hubs. Again, I cannot find anyone that has it. I have not tried the dealer yet, but I'd like to know what the heck the parts are/part #'s to make sure I'm asking for the right parts. Unfortunately, I can only see 4 of the 7 numbers on the seal... 5212???
I have pictures if anyone would like me to see what I'm talking about.
Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!

I am not too sure of what you are trying to get at. I am curious if it is this

The "outer dust shield" that is at the end of the bottom axle.
This is the best picture that I could find. When I replaced my axles they had the dust shields. When I bought new ones, the remanufactured ones did not come with them. But the new ones did. I am pretty certain that it is only to keep dust and dirt from getting into the hub bearings. Not necessarily needed! But a good idea if you can get it. I don't have them on my truck right now. You could try to take it off and re-use it but it might not fit well (be loose) due to rust

Yes. It looks like the dust shield. I have removed the pressed in seals from the hubs. I will try to upload the pics. Need to resize them.
I really prefer to have the dust shield on. The seals that are pressed into each hub is kind of a necessity - to keep water grime from getting in between the spline and easily into the bearing.

this is probly what your looking for. any parts house should have it or be able to get it within 1 day. my '96 didnt have them seals. different front axle design maybe or rather different steering knuckles i guess.
