iirc a ram gy did this already but also iirc he welded the piece on...for those of us who aren't very good at welding i think this is really helpful.
I didn't want to have to repaint it otherwise I would have brazed it together. The brake/carb cleaner I use strips paint so since the air cleaner is a visible item, I choose rivets.
I am trying to decide if I want to perform any modifications like that myself.

I doubt it. Look at the size of your throttle body opening and look at the opening in the air cleaner. They're about the same size. If you were upgrading to a 4 barrel throttle body (it'd be nice if one was available) then I'd say ya.

You got it A.Z. Dead on! My other passion is ***** scooters and the number of people that change air intake to get more power without a bigger carb and intake runner for the little craps is just not believable.
I finally finished my duel snorkel air cleaner. I had the new hose temporarily tucked by the battery but it will suck hot air. I was going to build an elaborate duct for it but settled for this.
The hose is just wedged in there. The ribbs help hold it in place.
I had to block off this hole or the intake could draw in hot air from the engine compartment.

If I am not mistaken the TB is the same on 5.2 to 5.9. The dual snorkel looks cool and just gives the ability to pull air from 2 places with cool air. So its like a second cold air pipe. So all it does is doubles the "efficiency" of air supplied to the TB
