Thanks for the reply. Tried searching "splice" and "dakota" under FAQ and get "no results". Any chance you can post that link? Not sure what the PDC is either..thanks again...

Well I think I figured out where the splice is. found a splice under the relay box under the hood..Checked the wires on both sides of the splice and I got power. Still don't have no fuel pump though..

Have you checked for power at the fuel pump connector?

Swapped out the relay and that made no difference. Wondering why when you first turn the key you can't hear the relay ticking, even if you try 2 or 3 times, until you engage the starter and then the relay starts ticking. Supposed to be a warmer day tomorrow so going to check for 12 volt at the pump.

Cool

I ran into this "no relay heard" on a 97 Ram 5.2ltr, and what it was is the pinkish wire to the PCM was not getting power from IGN. When I stabbed that pinkish wire with 12 volts you could hear several relays clicking from PDC, and the truck started. What was strange was once everything was powered up I was able to pull off my 12 volt supply from that pinkish wire and the thing would run and start up from that point on by itself without the need for the jumper wire I earlier supplied. I replaced the electrical part of the ignition and the truck never came back. Yes the ignition was the problem, and acted up worst at low ambient temperatures.
DONT start stabbing wires before you have the correct wire from ign source 12 volt wire, or you know what. If you need the pin location for that ask and I'll dig it up. I believe the wire were after is from the center PCM plug.

ZipperStar, glad you got up and running. In the end we replaced the PCM and that solved the problem.
