Yes when I step on gas or going up hill it bogs out. Then when this happens i stop and climb under truck and bang the gas tank with my fist. Totally starts fine and runs for about an hour. Must be something in gas tank? Really strange.Anyone know anything about this? 1987 dodge Dakota 3.9 liter.

 

Not sure if these do have one as Im a new Dakota owner myself but my older Chevy had a clogged sock filter wich inside the tank on the sending unit and gave me the same trouble.Also change the fuel filter under the driver door on the frame..Worth a check.Hope this helps.

 

I did find there is a filter at the bottom of the fuel pump.unfortunatly it's inside the tank also so you'll have to drop it..
