Default Gearshift linkage

Does anyone have any pictures of how the linkage rod is supposed to be connected between the throttle body and transmission? It's a '88 Dakota 3.9 4wd 3spd auto. It's been so long since I disassembled it, that I have forgotten how it was fitted(oops..). I have fitted the rod(?) on the throttle body and on the linkage on the transmission, but it's all loose and doesn't work like it should.

Thanks,
Ole

Bump!

This is the rod I'm talking about, at the throttle body end;

At the lower end, on the transmission;

Normally I would help but being a 88 there is noting I can help with. Hopefully someone can take some pictures for you. Possibly try your local junkyards to see if they have what you need. Or www.craigslist.org

Here in Norway it's not possible to find any Dakota's in the junkyards.

I was hoping to get this solved, since the rest of the car is about to get done. It's got a
new engine rebuild, torque converter, tubular headers, HID headlights, taillights, keyless
entry system and half of the frame sandblasted and painted(rust, bleh).

If you haven't already try a www.google.com search. Search for "88 Dakota engine" under the Images tab.

The gear linkage problem is solved! I found the missing piece...

This weekend I've removed some rust around the front window.

Good rust repair.

Much better then bondo which a lot of people cheat with. Do it right the first time.
