Default 92 Dakota with a soaked floorboard

My 92 Dakota generally keeps a soaking wet passenger side floorboard. Its not the heater core because it doesn't smell like antifreeze and I would think that the water would reach all the way up to the dash if it was. Any ideas?

i have had same problem w/94 xcab with sliding window. the window was the prblm. dirt(mud) had filled the window slide trough and water poured into the truck. very hard to diagnose. went to saffety glass and asked them. they solved it. cleaned out the track and voila!! no more h2o. hope that helps

I had this exact problem, and it was actually the seal on the windshield. I know it might seem crazy, but if your heater core is good, and the windshield drain is clear, its the seal.

To be sure, you can go to a company like safe lite, and have them pressure test it for you and find the leak.

is it wet all the time or when its wet outside? i had the floorboard on the driver side rust through, and whenever it was wet outside my leg and carpet would get soaked because water from the wheel was coming through the floorboard and splashing my leg and the carpet.

Default My floorboard is wet also!!!

i boiught my truck when it was still pre-rainy season, and it needed a new windshield. After getting the new windshielkd, the rain started (I am in the Seattle area)...so that was when I found water pooled up in both driver and passenger floorboards. I figured it was a bad seal on the newly installed windshield. My driveway is sloped, so I parked with the nose down to allow water to run down the front of the truck...it made no difference...still gets wet. I am thinking it is the gutter areas...I truly hope that doing that repair will fix it. I also plan to do a water soak test, running the hose over the cab while I sit in the truck to see if I can see where it is coming in. I think it is the gutters, because only the floor area is wet, not above where your feet go...I believe that tells me it is running down around the door jambs...also I get drips around the front of the head liner...

This truck has a few minor problems, but I only gave $800 for it!!!
