Hey I have a canister mounted (well sorta mounted as the strap rusted apart) on the frame rail under the passenger door. It actually looks like it is 2 part canister with the other part still mounted properly to the frame. My question is what is it? I have an odor of gas & a friend thought it was possibly a charcoal canister where the gas tank vents to or part of the return system. Will the truck run better if I get the canisters mounted properly & get the 2 together again? Thanks for any help.

Are there 2 or 3 hoses coming to the canister? Good luck.
