Default Parking brake dilemma.

The other day I set my parking brake and when I released it it didn't fully release. After a little driving it was back like it should be. I pulled the drum off and everything is free in there. I figure its time to replace the e-brake cables, but I don't know what the heck to get. Guessing its an intermediate cable and a left and right cable, correct? I found the intermediate cable C92352 for my short bed, short box, but what are the left and right cable #'s for a 4wd (if that matters)?
Also, maybe it isn't a cable, anything else I should look at?

The part number for the rear parking brake cables (that connect from the intermediate cable to the rear drums) is:
4294 385 for 9" brakes (NAPA part #93625) or
4294 383 for 10" brakes (NAPA part #93627)
The part is the same for left and right.

Not too familiar with parking brakes, I know that I still haven't messed around with mine to get it working again...

I know on mine the problem is the rear cables, they run through a steel spring like housing and it will rust and hang up the cable exactly as you describe.

I never use mine since it was doing that when I bought it but once a year I oil the bejesus out of them to get it working for the state inspection.

The cable is tefflon coated and that can get hung, crimped and then you have nothing. I have been putting off inspection and this is one of the reason. Driving other truck. Have the parts just havnt been able to get round to it. You were lucky to get then freed up.

i went without a parking brake until i changed my rear drum shoes, while i was at it i changed left/right rear parking brake cables, the whole job was a pain in the ***, but after it was over i had rear brakes and a good parking brake..no more wheel chocks when i park on an incline!!(i always carried a wedge of wood with me for that

I have an extended cab.
I have replaced both the rear cables which are the same. The intermediate cable won't be the issue because all it is is a cable, it doesn't run inside of a sheathing. It could be adjusted wrong, there is an adjustment in the front passenger side near the transfer-case.
I have not replaced my front cable yet but it could definitely be an issue since it is very similar to the rears. It is harder to find as well but all of them are pretty darn cheap.

I think the rears were around $20ish each and the front was like $40 and the intermediate also around $20

try rockauto.com..the rear and intermediate run 5-6 dollars and the front about 20 dollars (before shipping)...plus someone on the forum probably has a 5% discount code
