Many thanks to all of you for your advice and recommendations. Just to see what may be available, I checked Amazon.com to see what other products may be available and found this: Forever Black. After reading many of the more than fifty user reviews, both good and bad, I decided to give it a try. Has anyone else used this product? I will post an update after trying it.

I used a Heat gun to bring mine back to color you have to wave it over it back and forth don't hold it in one place to long and it held up the same color after 2 months now The picture says it all

Wow! Talk about looking good . . . that really did the job. I don't have a heat gun, would a hot hair dryer work? Do you know why heat brings the color back? Thanks.

I heard people were doing this to rebend bad plastic interior parts and it made them look ok so i thought id try it. So I'm not 100% sure why but I'm pretty sure it actually slightly melts the plastic but not enough to cause it to lose form. This has held up where as when I've tried other rub on compound on similar plastics its wore off over time. As for hair dryer I doubt it will get hot enough I know I was running my heat gun on high which the box says is 1112 degrees but they are relatively cheap I picked this one up for like $12 at Harbor Freight.

Looks like I'm headed to Harbor Freight. Luckily I found a replacement for my damaged flare at a local salvage yard only a couple of miles from home. I should have shopped locally first!

Just remember when doing this to evenly go across the flare it will take multiple passes over all areas patience is key! Do not hold on one place to long and do not touch the flare while it's still hot I rub my fingers across a small section on one of my flare and I can still see it when I go look at the truck I mean I'm sure it would stick out to anyone else like it does to me but just some things to keep on mind! Good luck happy heating
