Unhappy 94 Dakota Doesnt Turn Over

Alright, so I cannot get my truck to turn over.

1. I have power to all accessories; dont have a test light to check the starter
2. I have taken the starter and the battery out to get tested (tested fine)
3. I replaced the ignition switch
4. I checked the split wire to the fuse box under the hood (some corrosion but nothing indicative of a short or open circuit; no multi-meter or test light to verify)
5. Replaced the fuses in the box under the hood that appeared to have anything to do with ignition (pink, green, and the relay closest to the driver's side front quarter panel)

When I turn the key, it appears to click, but does the same even while jumping it off. This was an intermittent problem over the last year. Now it is permanent - this lead me to believe it was an electrical short and finally just burned out, but I am not certain.

Is there anything that I might could check?

Thanks for any suggestions here, this is my second week without a vehicle.

So the starter just clicks and that is all right? Bad or dirty wiring, bad or loose or disconnected ground or dirty connectors.

I am still looking through all the issues other folks have had similar to mine and found something close on page 22 "'93 3.9 V6 - new battery, still won't start...", not sure I can post links here...

I went ahead and sent my wife to pickup some new ends for my cables... it would appear she got 2 of the same polarity and I sawed one end down and fasted them down then bolted the cables in.

Still did not work and I am still attempting to find similar issues throughout the forums.

Thanks Crazy4x4RT, I have removed and cleaned all connections and I am about to just go do it all again just to clear my mind.

I really am skeptical about the battery terminal connectors...

Edit: Where all do I need to check chassis grounds? I only know of one off the battery and there appears to be one off the fuse box harness coming out the firewall.

Just a thought:
Everything except the starter is getting juice, but I guess the starter does pull more amps than anything else and juice to everything else wouldnt matter? Oh BUT when I turn the key over the headlights do not dim either, so I would assume there is no power what-so-ever going to the starter at all.

There is an additional ground on the block on my 94 318 just behind and down from the air conditioner compressor. Have you checked the fuse in the black box just back on the fender from the battery. When mine did this and I was in the boonies I pulled the connector going to the starter, and stalled two small finish nails in the connector. I bridged the nails with a screw driver and the starter worked. If this works for you you have to connect everything back or you will have no flashers or signals. For the batter connectors I got two large copper connectors from Advanced or Auto Zone. I fed the large main wires under the cross over bar that the two bolts tighten to. I enlarged the holes in the copper connectors to fit under the bolts and installed all other smaller wiring in the crush ends of the connectors. I bent the connectors for the smaller wires so they are in a downward angle to assure clearance. There is a post out there somwhere that shows this exact thing, someone else did after I did mine. Good lucki!

Anytime ! With what the dealers charge we have to help each other, or we will be going around and around trying to figure this stuff out.
