Default transfer case removal

I have a 1995 dodge dakota 4x4. I cannot seem to get the transfer case out. The torsion bar crossmember will not let me slide it back enough to clear the transmission. Is there a trick to this?

I finally had to remove the torsion bar adjusting bolt on the driver's side. Then I had to raise the transmission about 1" and pulled the transfer case back and rotated it clockwise and finished pulling it out.

ok you must have auto trans. manual trans is quit a bit simpler. slide tcase back couple inches so the input/output shafts disconnect then the whole thing drops out in the gap between tranny and torsion crossmember. never had to mess with torsion bars or jack the trans
