Default Heater Fan motor question?

'95 V6, 5Spd. w/AC
Fan has 4 Spds. but only the last 2 work. This tells me motor is good and switch? I see in book the speeds are controled by a resisitor taped at different places. I think I need to test and/or replace this resisitor. Question...where is this resisitor located?

It's under the hood, passenger side firewall with a fairly large connector on it. It's under $20 to replace and worth a shot.

I just bought this part for $6 at oreilly's autoparts. But even with the new part only from the first click to the second click work.

Could just be bad or the connections need cleaned up.

I'll clean and test for continuity before replacing.

If only 2 are working and 2 aren't and the resistor is new, try testing the switch... I'd bet thats the problem.

Hi, i had a similar problem my fix was the blower control switch in the dash it was melted, i took it apart cleaned the burned plastic away from the contacts and put it back in it works for now might want to look at that if u cant find anything else, also i could smell a burning smell when i turned on the blower fan. hope this helps. btw i was unable to find the part from parts or dealer thats why i cleaned it up, at least not the right one parts store only sold a 5 prong switch but mine is 6 prongs. goodluck
