Default Junk Yard CAI

Ok, I tried searching but I am really not sure one what to search for. If its already been posted I am sorry. Anyway...

Today I was trashing around the JY after all the talk about it looking for a transfer case for the old Dakota. Unfortunately, didnt find one that was worth it. So was walking about aimlessly and looked into the engine bay of a Jeep Cherokee with a 5.2. They have an air box assembly that resembles an aftermarket CAI for these trucks.

Just was curious if this type of setup would help out at all. It looks like it wouldnt be too bad. In the Jeep its mounted with box on drivers side. Looks like it would easily flip around. The one from the Jeep though kinda has a low profile tube on the air hat that goes to the big round tube like on ours from the rad support. Just was curious if the 20 or so that it would cost to pull it from the JY would be worth it.

I know our trucks are already set up kind of like a CAI but I just didnt know if you thought this type of system would be more efficient or something.

I would say stock with a good filter would do just as good as you would need. If the ducting is LARGER than your stock setup it may help.
