What gives better performance?
That is junk. Jet Chips is the only kind that works, for some reason they are only good for V6 not V8. http://www.jetchip.com/Shop/shopdisp...ppp=10&catID=1
As for the tuneup, I just bought distri cap and rotor, breather, pcv valve, air filter, spark plugs, and air filter. I didn't get the fuel filter because the guy said it's on the fuel pump and I'm already waiting for my fuel pump to go out so I can replace it because the fuel gauge doesn't work and gas light always on.

If you like loud then have a shop fab you up some 2.5" piping and have them use a Thrush Glasspack. Thats what I run on my 4.7L but its probably whats gonna make your V6 sound more throaty.
Just a chip? Ive read they are junk, but if you had good results it might be worth a try.
So far I put in the new PCV valve, breather/filter and a new hose for the PCV valve because it was rock hard with a crack at the end going to the engine.
It runs better, does not get the high idle at startup on a cold start.
It used to have a very rough idle if you stop at a stop light or something and the engine is not warmed, the RPM would drop to like 350 to 500 and feel like it's going to stall.
The old breather didn't even seem to have the filter in it, just the metal crosses where it would lay on. It was all rusted up and looked like it was very old.
