Unhappy replacement driver's side floor panel

Discovered that I have a hole in the driver's side floor in the cab and that the body mount in the front driver's side corner under the parking brake has rusted thru so the driver's side has started to sag (I'm sure these more rust but haven't had time to check). Are there replacement cab floor panels and how do I replace the rusted away body mount (not just the bolt/nuts)?

i've always replaced my cab floors (car/truck) with some old steel/aluminium i have laying around the house...mostly i've used an old washing machine but since that ran out i've been forced to buy some steel.

There are a few body replacement sites on the FAQ2 page. One may have replacement floors. Possibly you will need to cut and weld in on from a junkyard truck or just like stated above just use sheet metal.

I can find some old washing machine/refrigerator/dish washer bodies in my local landfill but I'm not sure how thick the metal should be. Will a door/lid w/out glass, from the washer/drier/refrig/dish washer be thick enough or do I need to take a part from the sides. I asked about premade patch panels because they are readily available for my chevy trucks.

I don't think there are ready made floor pans. I have the same problem, but I stumbled upon a bare rust free cab for sale on craigslist and snagged it cheap. I'd say a washer or fridge door is thick enough.

I'll start looking this weekend. The hole isn't that large now and the remainder of the truck is okay except the front fenders and above the rear wheel openings but for a 24 year old body (1988), I expect some rust. just foundout that Dodge stopped production of the Dakota so maybe I'll try to keep this one going for a few more years.

Just curious marcar, how much would you pay for a bare cab?

I know the local junkyard here in MN (U Pull R Parts) sell them for $250 ... Was $200 a couple months ago but they raised prices Although i know a lot of Junkyards have "Half Off" Days. So if you could find a junkyard with a clean cab you could possibly pick one up for $125-$200. Although then there's always paint if you cant get a good match

Haven't had to do it on my Dakota yet, but I've had to replace floor pans in damn near all my Jeeps. I've always just picked up some sheet metal from Lowe's and welded it in place after cutting all the rust and crap out then bedlined the floor and what I could access underneath to prevent further rust.

You can get a gallon of Herculiner from Wal-mart for about $100 and just roll it on. The gallon would be more than enough to do the whole cab floor too if you wanted.
