Default 4x4 shift ****

can some one please tell me how the shif know is supposed to come off the 4x4 shifter i tried twisting and pulling and it didnt budge i didnt feel a set screw or anything like that all im trying to do is simply change the **** its on a 1996 dakota

The stock one just unthreads. It may have a nut on top that you have to un-bolt. The top is a small cap, pop it off and check if there is nut.

cool thank you i would have been at it for a while before i thought to take the top off by the way love your truck

well got it off got the new one on and when i went to put it back into 2wd the new one just fell apart so i went back to stock one and decided im just gunna leave it lol

all good i took the shifter back to walmart and exchanged for some pillows haha
