'91 Dakota Air/Smog Pump Issue
Hello all,
A buddy of mine has a 1991 dakota that the air/smog pump just seized on. Was wondering if it's possible to bypass this or if it's mandatory? If it is possible to bypass it, what serpentine belt would be needed to do this?
Or is there a way to take apart the pump to just get the pulley spinning freely so that the belt can still go around it?
Thanks

Removing or tampering with the smog pump is illegal. Depending on your city/state you may have emission tests or inspections, in which it will fail. If you don't have any tests or inspections then you can remove it as for the belt, the best thing to do is measure up what you would need and find one with those specs. www.napaonline.com has great details on most parts.
